A projector is provided to open and close a shutter automatically when a user inputs power on/off commands and to be programmed so that the user can open and close the shutter arbitrarily. A projector includes a housing(200) having an opening(210) formed in a side thereof, an illuminating unit installed in the housing to emit light, a micro-device installed in the housing to receive the light from the illuminating unit to form an image, a projection lens installed in the housing to project the image formed by the micro-device to the outside through the opening, and a shutter assembly installed adjacent to the opening to open and close the opening by electric power. The shutter assembly includes a guide unit(110) installed in the housing, a shutter(120) moving along the guide unit, and a driving unit(130) to move the shutter. The driving unit is a motor. The shutter assembly includes a rack(121) formed in a side of the shutter, a worm gear(131) coupled with the driving unit, and a pinion(132) to connect the rack to the worm gear. |
