A circuit and a method for driving a low power data electrode are provided to prevent an image sticking by floating a driving voltage of a data electrode driving IC. A circuit for driving a low power data electrode includes a controller(100), a data electrode driving IC(200), and floating units(300,400). The controller supplies a control signal for driving a data electrode of a panel. The data electrode driving IC turns on/off switching elements according to the control signal from the controller and applies an output pulse to the data electrode. The floating units float a reference voltage of the data electrode driving IC while a data writing pulse is applied during an address period. The floating unit floats the reference voltage of the data electrode driving IC to a voltage level higher than a ground voltage, so that a switching magnitude is reduced during a switching process.
