METHOD FOR SCANNING A SYSTEM CHANNEL OF A MOBILE TELECOMMUNICATIONS TERMINAL

A system channel scanning method of a mobile communication terminal is provided to induce a new PRL(Preferred Roaming List) only to be naturally succeeded while a series of system channel scanning procedures exclude an MRU(Most Recently Used) table, thereby effectively solving an unnecessary scan time increase problem. A system channel scan module(24) decides whether an initial terminal driving procedure for accessing a mobile communication network is initiated. If so, the module decides whether a PRL(25) is transmitted from the mobile communication network. If so, the module initializes stated details of a prestored MRU table(26). The module scans system channels stated in the PRL, and delivers the scanned results to a terminal control module side.
