The invention relates to a detection unit, a system of a plurality of detection units and a method using a plurality of detection units. The detection unit comprises a sensor, a control unit, a radio unit wherein the control unit is able to process parameters received from said at least one sensor and from said other detection units in order to calculate a direction of a detected object. In addition, the invention discloses a detection system that comprises a plurality of detection units (1,2,3) adapted to wirelessly synchronize with one another wherein each detection unit includes at least one sensor, a control unit and a radio unit. The detection units (1,2,3) are able to transmit and receive information transferred from said at least one sensor of said detection units between said detection units in order to compute a direction of a detected object.
