METHOD FOR CHANGING PAIRS OF ROLLING ROLLS AND(OR) PAIRS OF BACKUP ROLLS IN ROLLING STANDS AND APPARATUS FOR PERFORMING THE SAME

FIELD: method and apparatus for changing roll pairs in rolling stands. ^ SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of moving normally relative to rolling process direction chocks movable in supporting planes from direct motion drive unit that drives pair of rolling rolls mounted in chocks at mounting or dismounting them while extending or embedding pair of backup rolls rested upon chock for changing; extending and disconnecting pair of rolling rolls after their joining with direct motion drive unit; then coupling the same direct motion drive unit with roll changing truck placed between backup rolls; after resting of said truck and of upper backup roll upon lower backup roll, extending them in the form of one unit and again embedding. Apparatus for performing the method includes pair of rolling rolls mounted at drive side of rolling stand with possibility of coupling to cylinder-piston hydraulic drive whose length corresponds to stroke of mounting or dismounting and with possibility of disconnection in extended position while truck placed between backup rolls along height is joined with the same cylinder-piston drive. When upper backup roll and said truck rest upon lower backup roll pair of backup rolls may be extended from rolling stand and again moved inside it. ^ EFFECT: shortened time period and reduced power consumption for changing rolls. ^ 11 cl, 4 dwg
