An electrophoretic display device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to form a color filter layer by applying a metal substrate instead of a lower array substrate. An electrophoretic display device comprises a lower substrate(101), a thin film transistor, a black matrix(103), the first electrode, an electrophoretic film(140) and the second electrode. A plurality of pixel regions are defined on the lower substrate. The thin film transistor is formed on the lower substrate. The black matrix is formed on the lower substrate including the thin film transistor. The first electrode is formed on the black matrix. The first electrode is electrically connected to the thin film transistor. The electrophoretic film is arranged on the first electrode. The second electrode is formed on the electrophoretic film. |
