The present invention relates to a therapeutic medicine for burns and inflammation containing an extract of the top part of Glechoma grandis Kuprianova var. longituba Kitagawa as an active ingredient. The inventor confirmed that the extract decreased the wound area, promoted the production of skin cell growth factors TGF-β and VEGF compared with a positive control (Silver sulfadiazine), and inhibited an inflammation factor TNF-α when an animal model burned by boiling water was treated with the extract. Therefore, the extract of the top part of Glechoma grandis Kuprianova var. longituba Kitagawa of the present invention can be used as a therapeutic medicine for burns and inflammation.
