<p>A rotary cone drill bit (20) for forming a borehole having a number of support arms (50) extending from a bit body (32). Each support arm (50) has an exterior surface with a stabilizer pad (140) formed as an integral part thereof. A ramp (120) may also be formed on the exterior surface of the support arm (50) as an integral part thereof. Both the stabilizer pad (140) and the ramp (120) preferably have surfaces (148, 126) inclined at an angle from a leading edge (122) of the support arm (50) toward a trailing edge (124) of the support arm (50) such that a fluid flow channel (144) is formed therebetween to direct drilling fluids and cuttings to flow upward in the borehole.</p> |
