PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distance measuring system and a distance measuring method capable of reducing an installation space.SOLUTION: A distance measuring system 1 measures a distance between a first member 11 made of a soft magnetic material and a second member 12 made of a nonmagnetic material. The distance measuring system 1 has: a permanent magnet 2 which is fixed to the first member 11; an interposition member 3 which is connected to the first member 11, placed between the first member 11 and the permanent magnet 2, and made of the nonmagnetic material; and a magnetic field sensor 4 which is fixed to the second member 12 and detects intensity of a magnet field generated by the permanent magnet 2. The permanent magnet 2 is fixed to the interposition member 3 in a manner that arranges a pair of magnet poles in a direction parallel to a composition surface 11a of the first member 11.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
