According to an embodiment of the present invention, a device comprises a user input part, an output part and a control part. The user input part receives user input from a user. The output part outputs information based on the user input. The control part determines whether an out-focus state where the user does not use the device is started as the user input is not received, determines a period that the out-focus state will be maintained based on information on a probability to be in the out-focus state according to context of the device as determining that the out-focus state has been started, and stops an operation of an application executed in the device when the determined period that the out-focus state will be maintained is a reference time or more. Efficiency in battery consumption of a device can be secured.
