In apparatus for separating fine particles from a gas; the gas to be cleaned enters a casing 1 at 2 and passes downwardly through a filtering tube 5 comprising two concentric layers of fabric and irrigated with liquid from an atomiser 11. The lower end of the tube 5 carries a member 9 which dips into liquid collecting in the base of the casing. The two layers of the tube 5 may be of different fabrics and may enclose a layer of agglomerated felt or fibres. In another embodiment the tube 5 may carry a heavy body at its lower end to tension the tube.</p> |
