A magnetic tape is produced by applying a layer of magnetic particles dispersed in a fluid binder on to a tape base using the pole of the orienting magnet as doctor blade. A reservoir of the dispersion may be held behind the U- shaped part of the magnet, the pole arm of which is polished and lies parallel to the tape. Alternatively, an electromagnet may be used. |
