Continuous sulphur trioxide getermination in - moist gases

The sample stream is split into two congruent parts and one of the side-streams is passed through a contact tube, heated to 1000 degrees C, whilst the other is mixed with water vapour and passed through a cooling tube. The SO2 contents of both side-streams are measured and the SO3 content is determined by the difference between the two readings.
