The screen which has balanced colour and mono-chrome reproduction of improved brilliance comprises (1) a red phosphor comprising a white Eu activated rare earth oxide body with particles substantially parallelo-pipedic, (2) a green phosphor having a characteristic body colour which contributes to the improved white brilliance and (3) a blue phosphor of increased brilliance.
