Fixed hollow axis is split into sectors to take the ultrasonic head and sonotrode together, these forming the coiler mandrel and cone and ensuring that the wire turns are tautest at the point of deformation. Wire is reeled off a spool by flight arms and passed to a hollow guide tube coaxial with the sonotrode. The hollow axle bar also serves as cable conduit to the head and sonotrode. The coiler rotor at one end of the axle bar acts as a differential to ensure uniform tension of the wire on the mandrel from the stock spool. |
