Automatic tester for internal pressure test on hollow ware, esp. glass bottles, in which a sliding piston within a sealing test head, extended into a shroud, is pressed into contact with the mouth of the bottle by a cylindrical guide actuated by the pressure of the test medium. The test medium is fed to the test piece via a central channel in the piston which may have clamping jaws at its lower end operated, against a spring, by movement of the piston. Safety is increased by the automatic locking system and the shroud.
