PURPOSE:To remove welds from spot welded articles or the like by sandwiching spot welded steel plates between two arms and projecting a drill from one arm to drill only one steel plate. CONSTITUTION:Two spot welded steel plates 11 are sandwiched between arms 7, 8 and a drill 5 reciprocates at low speed while rotating at high speed. The drill 5 is projected from the arm 8 to drill the steel plate 11. The drill projected by a certain length is retreated by a cam 13 and returned into the arm 8 without extending through the whole steel plate 11. By determining the projecting amount of the drill to drill only one steel plate by a fixed cam 14 is removed the spot welded portion. |
