A pneumatic aerosol generator control unit, for use with a commercially-available nebuliser with its intake (3) connected to a source of gas under pressure, consists of a T-shaped tube which is connected to the intake (3), to the nebuliser (1), and to an outlet (4) equipped with a valve (8). When the valve is closed the gas pressure inside the nebuliser is equal to that at the intake and the nebuliser operates, while when the valve is open the nebuliser circuit is connected to the open air, reducing the pressure to little or nothing and causing the nebuliser to stop. The generator incorporates a pressure-sensitive capsule (7) which acts on the circuit's gas outlet (4) by means of a rod (9) sliding in a tube (10) to control the valve (8). When the patient sucks on the nebuliser mouthpiece the suction creates a depression in the chamber which closes the valve and allows the nebuliser to operate.
