<p>1522781 Battery testing in cameras WEST ELECTRIC CO Ltd 18 Feb 1977 [20 Feb 1976 19 July 1976] 06988/77 Heading G2A A camera has a shutter control circuit 1, an electronic flash unit 2 and a battery tester 5; the tester being inoperative when the battery 3 is connected to the flash unit to avoid false indications being given when the flash capacitor is drawing a large current. When a selector switch 6 connects the flash unit 2 to the battery 3: (a) in Fig. 1 and Fig. 4 (not shown), the tester 5 is automatically disconnected (b) in Fig. 2 (not shown), the test indicator (10) is covered by a slider (11) coupled to the selector switch (6) (c) in Fig. 3 (not shown), depression of a battery test switch (100) is prevented by a slider (11) coupled to the selector switch (6). As shown, the tester has an LED 10 which lights up when the battery voltage is sufficient to operate the shutter circuit 1. In Fig. 4 (not shown) the tester has an adjustable voltage divider (18, 19) so that the tester can indicate whether the battery voltage is sufficient either for the shutter circuit or for the flash unit. In addition, the flash unit has a lamp (23) for indicating when the flash capacitor is charged.</p> |
