<p>The machine is designed to ensure that straw left over from the harvested crop is thoroughly mixed with the soil during ploughing. The machine is towed by a tractor and has a ploughshare (2) which turns over the soil. The ploughshare is followed by a rotor (18) with radial blades (20) which breaks up the soil and flings it against a screen (34) composed of a row of parallel bars with their lower ends penetrating the soil surface. The small fragments pass through the gaps between the bars. The fragments, which adhere to the bars, are removed by prongs (23a) of a rotating roller (23) mounted behind the rotor. The prongs of this roller complete the breaking up of the soil and mixing it with the straw.</p> |
