PURPOSE:To effectively prevent edging of a magnetic medium at read/write of the magnetic medium, by suiting a sensor to a magnetic head to move together, and stopping the sensor when the magnetic head comes to the prescribed position. CONSTITUTION:A sensor W for write position detection is suited to a magnetic head 15 and the both are moved together. When the magnetic head moves to a guide member 12 of a card, the sensor only is stopped and the magnetic head only keeps moving afterward. At the stop of the said sensor, edging of a bankbook is detected depending whether or not the sensor shuts the bankbook. The magnetic head is once stopped at the end of magnetic stripes, it is returned back by r2 from the stopped position and the write is started from the position. The said stop position is determined by taking the stop of the sensor as a reference. |
