<p>The low voltage distribution system has several feeders from a single supply, and has overload protection circuit breakers on each feeder, with both short circuit and overload protection provided on the incoming supply line. The feeder and supply protection is coordinated so that the upper limit of the level of feeder protection against overloads corresp. to the operating threshold of the short circuit protection provided by the supply breaker. The feeder protection can be simplified because it is not required to cope with current above the overload level, permitting simpler contact and breaking mechanism design. The short circuit protection can be provided by the breaker in the mains supply connection.</p> |
