A vaporising oil burner is described in which extinguishing of the flame can be carried out instantaneously without the production of a noisome smell. The oil burner is constructed in a manner such that an oil feed pipe and an air feed pipe open into a single pipe which runs as far as a pot, and the pipe carries at its end a nozzle pipe which extends into the pot, the fuel carried by the air in the form of fine particles being injected therefrom into the pot.
