PURPOSE:To maintain the low temp. of an oxyhydrogen flame without decreasing the force of the fire and to obtain a titled base material having good quality by supplying gaseous H2 diluted with inert gas to an oxyhydrogen burner in a combustion state forming pulverous glass powder. CONSTITUTION:Bubbling gas is blown into the liquefied raw materials 10a, 10b in raw materials tanks 9a, 9b from bombs 11a, 11b and the evaporated raw materials of gaseous phase are supplied to the 1st flow passage (central flow passage) of an oxyhydrogen burner 4. Gaseous H2 is supplied from a bomb 13 to the 2nd flow passages, sealing gas from a bomb 17 to the 3rd flow passage and gaseous O2 from a bomb 18 to the 4th flow passage, respectively in synchronization with said supply so as to be burned by the burner 4. The pulverous glass powder formed by the flame hydrolysis reaction of the raw materials of gaseous phase are injected onto a target 3 under rotation to be deposited thereon and the target is risen in synchronization with the growth of a porous base material 19. The inert gas in a bomb 15 is stirred and mixed with the gaseous H2 by means of a mixer 14. The temp. of the oxyhydrogen flame decrease in the burner 4 by as much as the concn. of the gaseous H2 is decreaed and the force of the fire is substantially assured without weakening of the gaseous flow. |
