PURPOSE:To improve the operating ratio of a press by setting a stocker at a transferring position, installing a lifter lifting stocks onto the transferring position, and shifting the stocks from the lifter to the stocker through a residue detecting signal of the lifter. CONSTITUTION:A stocker holding the prescribed number of stocks is set at a transferring position and a lifter 8 lifting stocks in a magazine bag 7 onto the transferring position is also installed. First, stocks are held in a pile in respective magazine bags 7 of a rotating table 6 and the stocks are lifted onto the transferring position by the lifter 8. A vacuum cap 11 picks up stocks, loads them on a slider 12, and sends them to a press device 1 through a feed cylinder 13. The lifter 8 rises to replenish stocks to the transferring position when the number of residual stocks on the lifter 8 reaches the prescribed number. In this method, the press operation ratio is improved because stocks are supplied continuously.
