PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanical/optical switch having a low power consumption, simple control for driving and M input, N output (M, N are integers larger than 2), an optical communication device, optical transmitting device, optical exchange and an optical path changeover device provided with the relevant optical switch. SOLUTION: A lower clad, an optical waveguide and an upper clad are laminated on a silicon substrate 10 and a movable member 15 and a fixed beams 111, 112 are formed. The movable member 15 having intermediate optical waveguides 24, 25, 26, 27 inside are moved by using coils 31, 32 and permanent magnets 311, 312 on the upper clad and the coupling condition of the optical waveguides 20, 21 for input in the fixed beam 111 to the the optical waveguides 22, 23 for output in the fixed beam 112. |
