NEW MATERIAL:A novel substance OM-001 specified by the following physicochemical properties. Elementary analysis (%): C 48.78, H 7.30, N 8.78 (freeze- dried product C12H18N2O5.1/2H2O); molecular formula: C12H18N2O5; mol.wt.: 270; solubility: easily soluble in water and dimethyl sulfoxide, slightly soluble in methanol, ethanol, acetone, ethyl acetate, chloroform, benzene and hexane; contains beta-lysine as a constituent thereof; etc. USE:An antibiotic. PREPARATION:A microorganism [preferably Bacillus.pumilus 37-001-M (FERM BP-2064)] belonging to the strain Bacillus and having an OM-001-producing ability is cultured at 20-25 deg.C at a pH of 6-8 for 1-7 days preferably by a deep stirring culture method. |
