PURPOSE:To provide a virus genom-inactivation agent containing a specific compound as an active component, remarkably inhibiting the expression of early antigen of Epstein-Barr virus caused by tetradecanoylphorbol acetate and useful as an antiviral agent, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective agent contains a compound of formula (R<1>-R<7> are H or OH) as an active component. The compound of formula is e.g., apigenin, chrysin, morin, fisetin or baicalein. The vegetable containing apigenin is e.g., Satureia obovata and Acanthus ilicifolius. The compound of formula can be extracted and separated from the above vegetables by conventional method. |
