<p>PURPOSE:To enable the display of an excellent image having no brightness change by providing a control means having a predetermined regulation face with a predetermined distance from a linear hot cathode in at least either of spaces lying between the hot cathode and both of back electrode plate means and an electron beam take-out electrode means. CONSTITUTION:An electron source includes a back plate electrode means 2, a linear hot cathode 4, an electron beam taking electrode means 3, and regulation means 5a, 5b of the linear hot cathode 4 are contained. The regulation means 5a, 5b have regulation surfaces in the linear hot cathode longitudinal direction within the range of 0.02 L-0.1 L to the linear hot cathode length L which is substantially parallel to the linear hot cathode 4, and the linear hot cathode longitudinal outer end parts of the regulation means 5a, 5b are formed in a circular form. By reason of the circular formation of the linear hot cathode longitudinal outer end parts of the regulation means 5a, 5b, the vibration energy of the linear hot cathode 4 is absorbed, and the vibration of the linear hot cathode 4 is suppressed within a short time. Hence, the display device has not brightness change, and an excellent image can be displayed.</p> |
