PURPOSE:To simplify the assembling and improve the cell characteristic by fusing a solid phase electrolyte disposed in a gas feed chamber between a gas electrode and a gas separating plate in the process of raising the cell temperature and impregnating an electrolyte holding body with said electrolyte through the porous gas electrode in the assembling of a cell. CONSTITUTION:Gas electrodes 2, 3 are disposed on the both surfaces of a holding body impregnated with an electrolyte, respectively, and a gas separating plate 6 is provided through corrugated plates 4, 5 on the rear surface of each electrode. A determined amount of solid phase electrolytic particles 7 are preliminarily disposed, for example, in the base feed chamber of the gas electrode 2. The gas electrode 2 may be any of anode electrode or cathode electrode. In the assembling of a cell, as the solid phase electrolyte 7 thus disposed in the gas feed chamber is fused in the process of raising the cell temperature and impregnated into the electrolyte holding body 1 through the porous gas electrode 2, the preliminary impregnation of the electrolyte in the holding body 1 is not required, resulting in no application of a heat cycle, and these constituting members can be incorporated into the cell as they are. Hence, the cell assembling can be simplified, and the cell characteristic can be improved. |
