An attempt was made to cool the machine directly with running water. This process has proved unsuitable, for technical reasons, because the water becomes highly polluted. The aim of the present invention is to obtain a cooling system of the above-mentioned type which does not suffer from the drawbacks mentioned and which can be used in installations with mass-produced cylindrical rotors in the medium machine range. A generator (2) connected upstream to a transmission (3) is arranged in a chamber (1) immersed in water. The transmission (3) is driven by a slowly rotating turbine (not shown). The wall of the chamber (4) consists of a sheet metal casing. The wall of the chamber (4) facing the direction of flow constitutes a cooling radiator (5). The invention makes it possible for the first time to produce immersible aggregates which operate economically even in the low-output range. This is primarily due to the fact that mass-produced generators can be used. |
