The present invention relates to the formation of the side walls of pools or of ponds for decorative purposes and/or for industrial use. The structure 1 according to the invention intended to constitute the side walls of a pool or of a pond consist of a combination of, on the one hand, an inner covering panel 2 consisting of a synthetic material of the type having a honeycomb structure 6, and, on the other hand, of a filling material 3 which is inserted between the excavated edge 4 of the pool and the said inner covering panel 1, the said filling material 3 being of a non-compact structure. In this way a lightweight structure 1 is obtained which is easy to use and which permits pool shapes of complex geometry. <IMAGE>
