Visual inspection of a construction. The equipment comprises: - a walkway 2 provided with means 33 for removable attachment of two flexible link assemblies 3a, 3b; - two self-propelled and guiding carrier units 1a, 1b each comprising: . a carrying chassis 4 provided with rolling members 5; . a motorised turret 7 mounted on the chassis and revolving on a vertical axis A-A'; . a jib 9 mounted in an articulated manner on the turret by a horizontal axis 10; . and means for winding/unwinding and guiding along the jib a flexible link assembly; - and two flexible link assemblies 3a, 3b taken up by the motorised winding/unwinding and guidance means and fastened to the removable attachment means.
