Rolled bar braking plant - with revolving slotted drums, movable shock absorber and discharge carrier

A braking installation for fine and medium section rolled bars which have been cut to length retards the bars to zero. The bars enter several revolving slotted drums with shock absorbers in their ends, mounted on wheeled carriages. The braking installation has at least three revolving slotted drums (1). At the rear of each drum, a shock absorber enters the drum at the end of a pneumatic cylinder. Each drum has a semicyclindrical cover (9) with a pneumatic lifting cylinder (7) and is driven by a toothed belt and pulley (3). The stand (8) also carries a rolled bar sensor. Thd drum rotation is coordinated by a computer so that the slot is closed by the cover (9) when a bar enters it. The bar drops ultimately at standstill through the slot to the discharge carrier (13). ADVANTAGE - This reduces the cycle times for bringing short rolled bars to a standstill and for transferring them to the following processes.
