The calibrating method involves using a flow generator and a measurement arrangement for detecting the flowmeter's output signal. The piston pump flow generator produces a defined dynamic air flow which is associated with the output signal. The solid piston rod (3) or guide rail (5) has mechanical markings, esp. bores, which are used for measurement of time intervals using a light barrier (6) technique. USE/ADVANTAGE - Accurately measuring dynamically varying flow.
