The invention relates to a process and a device for cleaning drains (1). To this end, thermoplastic pipes (3) are introduced into a drain (1). The deformable body (7) is then inserted into the domestic connection (2) where it forms a connection piece (11) from the region of the plastic pipe (3) covering the outlet of the domestic connection. The connection piece (11) is cut around its edge. The deformable body (7) is then retracted to the carriage (6).
