Quinoline derivatives of formula: <IMAGE> (I) in which either R1 denotes trifluoromethyl, R2 and R3 form, together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached, morpholino and R4 denotes a 4-methylphenyl, 4-chlorophenyl, 2-, 3- or 4-fluorophenyl, 4-methoxyphenyl, 4-methyl-3-fluorophenyl, 2,4-difluorophenyl or 4-aminophenyl, or R1 denotes trifluoromethyl, R2 and R3 form, together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached, thiomorpholino, or R2 denotes methyl and R3 denotes 2-methoxyethyl and R4 denotes 4-methylphenyl, or R1 denotes chlorine fluorine, or methoxy, R2 and R3 form, together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached, morpholino, and R4 denotes 4-methylphenyl, are useful as anxiolytics, hypnotics, anticonvulsants and antiepileptics.
