In the sepn. of SO3 and sulphuric acid (mist) from flue gases from wet desulphurisation units by spraying of solid droplet-pptn. systems consisting of at least two precipitator layers, at least one of the precipitator layers is sprayed with caustic soda, soda, aq. ammonia or mixts. in excess amt. w.r.t. the total residual sulphuric acid content of the gas. Appts. for carrying out the process is also claimed.
