Appts. to identify the actual position of bobbins, in transit within a spinning assembly, has a test prong (1) inserted into the open end of the bobbin (2) to form a ring zone (20) between it and the interior of the bobbin which is filled with compressed air. The pressure within the ring zone (20) is taken as the data for the actual position of the bobbin (2). ADVANTAGE - System checks the position and lie of the bobbins in transmit through the spinning plant, for correct packaging for automatic access in further processing stages.
