<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the subject complex, having a specific structure, selectively and reversibly reactive with molecular oxygen and usable in separating the oxygen from air or a mixed gas containing the oxygen. CONSTITUTION:This complex is expressed by formula I (R1 is methyl or ethyl; R2 is ethyl; R3 to R6 are H, alkyl, alkoxyl, phenyl or phenoxy). Furthermore, the complex is preferably obtained by passing, e.g. the conversion of a bromide precursor expressed by formula II into a nitro precursor, etc., and reacting the resultant diamine with an aldehyde, etc. A solution composed of (A) the compound of formula I, (B) an axial base and (C) a solvent in which the components (A) and (B) are soluble is preferably used in a process for separating oxygen.</p> |
