When the operator indicates conversion through a conversion indicating means 103, an error detection part 108 detects the error. When the error is detected, a cursor control part 112 moves a cursor to the misinput place and an editing mode setting part 114 rewrites an editing mode register into overwriting mode when the kind of the misinput is substitution or replacement and into insertion mode when the kind of the misinput is an omission. When no error is detected, a conversion result display control part 109 outputs the notation of a morpheme to an output part 110.
