<p>A cap for writing instruments such as mechanical pencils and ball-point pens provided with a safety measure to ensure breathing even when a curious infant or the like accidentally swallows the cap to lodge it in the throat at the worst, and comprises a bottomed cylindrical-shaped cap body (1) and a piece body (3) fitted into a mounting opening (2) which is formed on a closed tail end of the cap body (1) to have a suitable opening shape. The piece body (3) is shaped to fit to the opening shape of the mounting opening (2) of the cap body (1), and a plurality of air communicating recessed portions (4) communicating to an interior of the cap body (1) are parallelly provided at regular intervals on edges along opening edges of the mounting opening (2) whereby breathing is ensured through the interior of the cap body (1) even when a curious infant or the like accidentally swallows the cap to lodge it in the throat at the worst.</p> |
