PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enlarge and to display an arbitrary picture with an arbitrary enlarging rate. SOLUTION: In the picture enlarging device, an enlarging information setting means 1 sets enlarging rate, enlarging region and reference point as enlarging information. The information, which is set, is held in an enlarged information holding means 2. If an enlarging of a picture is to be conducted, a picture data acquisition means 4 obtains the display screen data held in a frame memory 3 and the picture data, which are to be enlarged, are segmented based on the reference point and the enlarging region. The segmented picture data are enlarged by a picture enlarging means 5 based on the enlarging rate and enlarging data are generated. A picture synthesizing means 6 superimposes the enlarged data on the display screen data to generate a synthesized picture and a displaying means 7 displays the generated synthesized picture. |
