<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a flexible pseudo video on demand(VOD) without increasing the number of disks by successively delaying a signal obtained by highly efficiently encoding an image/sound signal or the like at each prescribed delay time and extracting a delayed signal. SOLUTION: An encoded signal is stored in a storage circuit 31. When transmission is started, a highly efficiently encoded signal is outputted from a circuit 31 to a delay circuit 32 and a multiplexing circuit 52, the circuit 32 delays the input signal for 10 minutes and outputs the delayed signal to a succeeding delay circuit and the circuit 52. The circuit 52 multiplexes twenty signals outputted from the storage circuit 31 and the delay circuits 32 to 51 and outputs a multiplexed signal to a transmission circuit 53. The circuit 53 converts the multiplexed signal into a form suitable for a prescribed format and transmits the converted signal as a multiplex signal. Thus the signal obtained by highly efficiently encoding an image/sound signal or the like is successively delayed at each prescribed delay time and the delayed signal is extracted.</p> |
