PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner having a structure wherein a lower portion of an outlet port is shielded to prevent cold air from leaking downward when a vertically flappable air-flow-direction control plate provided at the outlet port is flapped to a substantially horizontal position during cooling operation. SOLUTION: Upper and lower air-flow-direction control plates are formed from a first vertically flappable air-flow-direction control plate 7 having a connecting shaft on each of at least both sides of a lower portion thereof in a stopped state that an outlet port 5 is closed, and a second vertically flappable air-flow-direction control plate 8 having, at its base end portion, oblong connecting holes, each of which allows each connecting shaft to slidably move and supports it in a flappable manner, and connected to the first vertically flappable air-flow-direction control plate 7 in a substantially flush state. When the first vertically flappable air-flow-direction control plate 7 is flapped to a substantially horizontal position to open an upper portion of the outlet port 5, the second vertically flappable air-flow- direction control plate 8 is so designed as to be stopped by a stopping means and to shield a lower portion of the outlet port 5. When the first vertically flappable air-flow direction control plate 7 is flapped to a substantially perpendicular position to shield the upper portion of the outlet port 5, the second vertically flapped air-flow-direction control plate 8 is so designed as to be drivenly flapped to open the lower portion of the outlet port 5. |
