The packaging is performed using a spool (1), guiding rollers (2) and step by step driving rollers (3) to advance a film to a cutting tool (4). The film is kept firmly in contact with the supporting table by a pressing element (6). Slide frames are stored in a magazine (7) and automatically split for film mounting. Sensors (10) read film numbers and other data and a camera (12) captures the film image. A computer (11) coordinates all mechanical movement and a part of the software determines automatically where the film should be cut.
