<p>A method for bonding moving webs (11, 12) of fibrous material and/or plastic film together or to absorbent material layers, in which at least one of the adjacent layers contains thermoplastic components, comprises arranging for the webs to travel in a common direction next to each other and directing a straight laser beam (L2) against the webs as they pass through a press nip formed by a pair of rolls (2, 3).
