PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-reliability thermistor which has positive resistance- temp. characteristic and hardly deteriorates the characteristic even when used in a reducing atmosphere and is usable as a heating or switching device. SOLUTION: A (Ba1-x Cax )TiO3 powder (0.02<=x<=0.3) is added to a compd. contg. barium titanate or its solid soln. as a main component, semiconductor- making elements, and oxides of Mn, Al and Si to obtain a positive temp. coefficient thermistor having an improved resistance to reduction. This reduces the frequency of the contact with a reductive substance and improves the packing of the unit lattice itself to result in that absorbed O or O of the lattice is hardly discharged to provide a high resistance to reduction. |
