PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a plate-like glassy carbon material little in deformations such as warpage, excellent in surface flatness and having a uniform thickness. SOLUTION: This method for producing a plate-like glassy carbon material comprises molding a thermoplastic resin liquid into a plate-like shape, curing the molded resin liquid and subsequently subjecting the cured product to a calcination carbonization treatment at a temperature of >=800 deg.C in a non- oxidizing atmosphere. Therein, the plate-like glassy-carbon material is produced by spreading resin films on inner mold surfaces corresponding to both the upper and lower surfaces of the plate-like resin molded product, pouring and molding the thermosetting resin liquid in the mold, taking out the resin film-adhered plate-like resin molded product from the mold, thermally curing the molded product, removing the resin films, and subsequently subjecting the plate-like cured resin molded product in a state nipped between graphite plates to a calcination carbonization treatment. A polyimide, a polycarbonate, a polyester, a polypropylene, etc., is used for the resin films. |
