PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely hold and fix a bypass tube at a predetermined position without being affected by the degree of caulking and the attitude of the bypass tube in a furnace in a heat exchanger for a car air conditioner evaporator equipped with the bypass tube. SOLUTION: An evaporator body 2 includes a plurality of vertical flat hollow sections 3 that include therein a refrigerant passage configured into a substantially U-shape in a side view and that are disposed left and right at a predetermined interval, a first header section 4 that extends left and right so as to communicate front ends of the refrigerant passages of all the flat hollow sections 3 and that includes a refrigerant guide hole 4A and is closed at a right end thereof, and a second header section 5 that extends left and right so as to communicate rear ends of the refrigerant passages of all the flat hollow sections and that includes a refrigerant discharge hole at a left end thereof and is closed at a right end. A vertical partition walls 41, 51 are provided in the header sections 4, 5, and a bypass tube 6 having a left end thereof is inserted through the refrigerant guide hole 4A and the refrigerant passage hole 4B in the vertical partition wall 41. A conduit connection member 7, that includes the refrigerant guide passage 7A and the refrigerant discharge passage 7B and that further includes an arc-shaped step section at an inner end of the refrigerant guide passage 7A, is fixed to the evaporator body 2 so as to hold the flange 61 with the step section and the refrigerant guide hole 4A end section.
